Getting paid

Get paid the way your customers actually pay

Half your customers pay with mobile money, some by bank transfer, a few by card. Zivobooks handles all of them, matches each payment to the right invoice, and politely chases the ones who forget.

Online checkout

Paystack, PayFast, Ozow and Paynow in Africa; Tap, PayTabs, Telr, Moyasar and Stripe in the Gulf, with mada, KNET, Benefit and Apple Pay. Each connects with your own merchant account, so the money goes to you, not through us.

Mobile money on the invoice

EcoCash, OneMoney, InnBucks, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, M-Pesa, Orange Money and more, shown with your numbers so customers pay you directly.

Proof of payment uploads

Customers upload a screenshot or bank slip on the invoice. You check it and confirm in one click.

Automatic reminders

Once an invoice is overdue, a polite reminder goes out by email, plus WhatsApp and SMS where you’ve set them up, then once a week until it’s paid.

Part payments and foreign currency

Record what was actually paid, in the currency it was paid in. Exchange gains and losses are worked out and posted for you.

Receipts sent for you

A branded receipt goes to the customer when a payment is recorded, so they never have to ask.

One place for every way money comes in

Every business knows the routine: a customer says they’ve paid, you check three different apps, and nobody’s quite sure which invoice it was for. Zivobooks puts all of it in one place. Online payments match themselves. Mobile money and bank transfers come in with a proof of payment attached to the right invoice.

Invoiced in US dollars but bank in rand? Record the payment in the currency the customer paid, at the rate your bank used that day. The invoice clears exactly, and the difference from the invoice’s rate is posted as an exchange gain or loss on its own, the way your accountant would do it.

Reminders that don’t feel like nagging

Reminders start automatically the day an invoice becomes overdue and repeat once a week, never more, until it’s settled. The message is friendly and includes the link to pay, so your customer can settle it in the moment instead of “later”.

Each plan comes with an SMS allowance every month: 50 on Starter, up to 300 on Pro. If you need more, buy a bundle from your settings at any time.

Getting paid: your questions

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Ask us directly, and a person will answer.

Does Zivobooks hold my money?

No. Payment gateways connect with your own merchant account, and mobile money and bank transfers go straight to you. Zivobooks records the payment, it never holds it.

Which gateways can I use?

Paystack (South Africa and more), PayFast and Ozow (South Africa) and Paynow (Zimbabwe, in USD or ZiG). In the Gulf: Tap (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman), PayTabs, Telr, Moyasar (Saudi Arabia) and Stripe (UAE). A payment is only recorded once the gateway itself confirms it.

What does an SMS reminder cost?

Every plan includes a monthly allowance. Extra bundles can be bought in your settings and are used only when the allowance runs out.
